Privacy Policy
Effective October 23, 2026. This policy describes what Shengxiao does — and deliberately does not do — with data.
The short version
Shengxiao is a static website. There are no accounts, no comments, no newsletter and no upload form. The zodiac calculator and compatibility tool run in your browser. The site does not use third-party analytics, advertising networks or tracking pixels.
What is stored in your browser
The theme switch stores one preference in your browser's localStorage under the key theme, with the value light or dark. It exists only so the site does not flash the wrong theme on your next visit. It is not sent to this server and is not shared.
The calculator and compatibility tool do not store your birth date or selections. They process the values in memory in your browser and discard them when you close the page. The site also does not set advertising or analytics cookies.
Server logs
The web host may process standard access logs — such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer and timestamp — to serve the site, keep it secure and diagnose failures. These logs are not used by Shengxiao to build profiles, and they are not combined with the calculator inputs. A CDN or hosting provider may process similar data under its own policy.
External links
Some pages link to external sources such as the Hong Kong Observatory, Encyclopaedia Britannica, the Smithsonian and the Chinese Text Project. Opening those links takes you to another site with its own privacy policy. Shengxiao does not control those sites.
Children
The site is a general-audience reference and has no forms that collect personal information. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your choices
You can clear the stored theme preference at any time through your browser's site-data settings. Because the site does not set analytics or advertising cookies, there is no consent banner to manage. Blocking JavaScript disables the calculator, compatibility tool, countdown and theme switch; the guides and tables remain readable.
Changes and contact
If the site adds a feature that changes these practices — for example, analytics — this policy will be updated before the feature ships. Questions or corrections: [email protected].
This policy is written for a static, ad-free reference site. It is not legal advice.
